You don’t have to leave land to start fishing, and at Seaprobe Fishing Charters we’ve picked out a few fishing spots that we know are crackers.
Coomera River
Who’d have thought that under the busy M1 would lie a little fishing gem teeming with fish. Coomera River has a platform that serves as a great fishing hub for many people looking to catch Bream, Whiting, Cod and Mangrove Jack.
The Seaway
If you’re looking to take part in some water sports, take a river cruise or want to go fishing then The Spit, also known as The Seaway is the perfect location. Due to its busy waterways you can’t cast a line out too far for fear of catching a jet ski rider, but if you keep your line close you might be surprised by the Flathead, yellowtail and many other fish that you’ll see.
Broadwater Jetty
Not far from the hustle and bustle of Southport you’ll find the Broadwater jetty. A modest sized jetty that has become a local hot spot for fishing, the Broadwater Jetty is great for catching fish both through the day and at night.
Tallebudgera Creek
Head South to Tallebudgera Creek and you’ll not only get stunning scenery, but you’ll get some great flatties and some big whiting. Whether you head there with a few mates or you take the whole family, the kids can play in the creek whilst you head towards the bridge for the chance of catching their supper.
Snapper Rocks
Talk to the locals and ask where the gutter is; it’s the perfect place to get your feet in the water and catch some flathead and maybe a Jewfish. With the stunning Kirra Reef proving a great attraction for the fish, you’ll be sure to hook some big ones even in the summer.
